Trump's COVID

First off, this:

Trump has been spending months in his alternate realty that there is no pandemic. Reports are that few, if anyone in the West Wing wears a mask or practices social distancing. People at his golf club sitting near him don't wear masks or practice social distancing. The event last weekend, where Trump announced the nomination of his handmaid to the Supreme Court, may have been a superspreader event.

The virus is not amenable to jawboning or bullying or pretense. Thanks in large part to Trump, the virus has gotten a large hold in this country. Maybe if we had all pulled together, if we had all practiced the simple measures necessary to stop it (wear masks, practice social distancing, wash your hands, avoid touching your face), we may have been well down the road to limiting the number of cases and limiting the death toll.

But we didn't. That is Trump's fault. It's the fault of Fox News, of the rest of the Right Wing Noise Machine that echos what Trump says, and of all of the millions of idiots who governed themselves accordingly.

And if that shoe fits you, wear it.

  1. If Hope Hicks did in fact give it to him, and if he does die from it, she will deserve the "Presidential Freedom Award".

  2. The list of party people testing positive in the inner circle and
close is mounting. Be evil and ye shall receive same.

The problem is those that do not deserve it, the auxillary staff,
secret service, housekeeping, and food service to name only a few
do not deserve to get it. That its likely for them is an example
of the drumpf evil and corrupt person.

  3. As much as I despise Trump, I do hope he can recover and regain his health. I also hope for all the others (White House staff, government officials, press corps) to regain their health or remain uninfected. They should not have to suffer this pandemic.

I still hope Trump is defeated in November and he can live a long time to see the havoc and disruption his administration has caused. Perhaps he will come to the realization to the errors of his decisions and eventually regret what he has done. But I'm not holding my breath.

Most of us won't be able to hold our breath for very long as *Trump's EPA (should be renamed the environmental destruction agency) continues to relax or remove rules for pollutants.

  5. Now that The Masque of the Red Death has come to life, I do hope those infected recover, as much as I despise them politically.
But speaking of politics, how many Republican senators need to be quarantined to derail the Barrett confirmation?

  6. McConnell says that Virtual Attendance is acceptable for the confirmation hearings for those quarantined.

Schedule for now is: The Judiciary Committee is scheduled to begin four days of hearings for Barrett on Oct. 12, with Graham planning to hold a committee vote on Oct. 22.

The panel could still meet if the Senate is not in session, provided the two parties agree on a schedule for the Senate floor.
