No Surprise Here; Afghan Ed.

The Taliban are to resume attacks against government forces, just days after signing a deal with the US aimed at bringing peace to Afghanistan.

The hard-line Islamist group had observed a "reduction in violence" in the week leading up to the agreement.
Trump got his public announcement of a deal, that's all he cared about. So the Taliban and the Afghani government will continue fighting while Trump continues to claim that he ended the war.

In other words, same shit, different day.

  1. The Afghan government said at the outset that they had no intention of releasing 5,000 Taliban prisoners. Looks like someone doesn't know much about how to negotiate.

  2. I noticed a place or two and later heard from a couple different relatively reliable sources in what remains of the reliable squawk box not "US/Taliban" peace deal but UN/Taliban peace deal. Strikes me that maybe he's both he fifteen seconds on this but when it all goes (more than it already is is) FUBAR someone to blame it on.
